Exciting Music Opportunity for Youth and Children

Music is a great vehicle for kids to learn. You know how you get a song stuck in your head. Then you know how effective music is for teaching. Why not have those songs swirling in your kids’ head be about God? It also gives kids the chance to worship through song, develop musical skills, and have fun together.

Starting in January, the youth and children of the church will have the opportunity to participate in a bi-monthly program that will allow the kids to not only have fun but also be a part of the worship leadership through their music.   Both groups will have practice and sing songs of their choosing under the direction of our Interim Director of Music, Sarah Fauber, and then share them in worship. They will be learning one piece of music along with musical skills during the month that they are practicing!

Rehearsal and leadership dates will be as follows:

The Chancel Choir serves each
week during the fall, winter, and
spring months at our 11:00 a.m. worship service. A special presentation is given for “Music Sunday” in the fall, and then the Advent and Lenten seasons as well. These special presentations include chamber instrumental ensembles with our combined choirs. Our members, who vary in age, occupations, and interests, represent a cross-section of our church. While the ability to read music is not required to be a part of the group, spiritual gifts of music, musicality, and learning are emphasized along with serving our Lord and singing His praises!
