Adult & Children’s Christian Education

Coordinates all Christian education opportunities; facilitates Sunday School for children and adults, Faith-in-Action Camps, Children at the Lord’s Table and Bibles for Life.

Congregational Care

Assists church leaders in developing and maintaining a contact system for our congregation; updates and maintains membership rolls.

Early Childhood Learning Center

Prepares young children to enter and excel in the Virginia Public School System through high level educational professionalism and Biblical integrity.

Finance and Endowments & Investments

Helps maintain fiscal accountability through audits and financial review; develops and monitors our annual budget; helps manage our church investments.

Evangelism and Outreach

Involves our congregation in ministry beyond our walls; maintains an online presence for church and community communication; assists prospective members and assimilates new members by striving for a family atmosphere.

Fellowship

Promotes intergenerational congregational bonding through fellowship activities which may include meals, entertainment, and sports.

Historical Preservation & Promotion

Preserves records of our heritage and provides perpetual care for them; promotes our history by educating our congregation; maintains the museum; updates and markets Headwater of Freedom; maintains and retrieves burial records.

Mission

Helps us become the hands and feet of Christ here and around the world by interpreting mission opportunities for our congregants; recommends to Session special offerings and/or service agencies and organizations; keeps the congregation abreast of the work of our missionaries.

Personnel

Maintains and administers all personnel policies on behalf of Session; holds regular consultations with the Head of Staff; assists in the employment, termination, and evaluation of all ordained and non-ordained staff.

Prayer

Leads the congregation through learning and growing and being in prayer; coordinates the Easter prayer vigil and other opportunities; informs pastors of joys and concerns.

Property

Oversees, manages, and maintains church properties including but not limited to buildings, grounds and cemeteries.

Spiritual Gifts

Formulates and coordinates stewardship campaigns and time and talent surveys; develops a year-round Biblical stewardship emphasis and helps congregants develop their spiritual gifts.

Worship

Leads in all aspects of worship for all services; maintains sanctuary furnishings, musical equipment, and A-V equipment; recruits ushers, greeters, and flowers for worship.

Youth & Young Adults

Intentionally develops and administers educational and mission opportunities, camps, and conferences suited to meet the unique needs of the young people from middle school age to college age.
